Newton Circus... where life is like a circus?

I went down to Newton Circus today for dinner with my family..

Its been a super duper long time.. since we went to Newton Circus for a meal...

Some hawkers have long changed since then.. the overall look of the area looks pretty much the same except that it is brighter, more airy... and there are more places to seat now!

One thing kinda pisses me off is that whenever you walk around the area, you get a whole multitude of the same questions from the BBQ seafood stall holders...

"Have you taken your dinner?"
"Would you like to take a look at what we have?"

It gets pretty irritating!!!!

Sharing session!

Went back to SP today for CLS sharing session.

Bascially did a sharing session, which was co chaired with my FYP lecturer, Mrs Ser, on the behind the scenes work of Twinz Sausage D'lite to some CLS staff over lunch... The response was pretty good I would say.. they were pretty much curious about the process.

After the whole session, went to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaves with Mrs Ser... its been some time since we had a nice chat!

Going to SP in the day is pretty much different from attending lessons at night.. somehow or rather night classes seem to be very gloomy and dark...

Anyway.. GST package credited into bank account today already!!! Reload resources to go shopping!

God give me the strength to hang on in there...

I really need some strength to carry on studying my Advance Dip.

With another 2 more people withdrawing, it just feels so tempting to withdraw from it..

At times, I really dread studying something that I have just completed a couple of months back.. repeated work..

Some times, I feel just so tired after a day's of work to go to school...

Yet, on the other hand, I kinda like some of the modules and lecturers who tend to share different perspectives unlike before..

Sigh.... I need some strength..

The truth behind SQ 006 - an hoax or what?

I got this little 'write up' from a local aquatic forum... I dont really believe in chain emails.. but this seems interesting.. so just sharing with all my blog readers!

Singapore Airlines (SIA) have removed SQ 006 permanently from their timetable. The flight number is now replaced by SQ 030. The return
flight of SQ 005 is now SQ 029. From now on, SQ 006 is history. The
flight numbers were changed after the SIA investigating team and
management found something spooky happened on the SQ 006 final flight.
Believe it or not? If you recall, a few years ago on the date that SQ
006 crashed, there was this Taiwanese SIA stewardess who was murdered in a hotel in Los Angeles . The murder suspect was her fellow colleague, an Eurasian guy.

Her naked body was dismembered and hidden in a cupboard. Do you know that she was wearing red when she was flown back to Singapore on SQ 006 via Taipei and wore red when she was buried? Her mother wore red too to receive her body at the Changi International Airport . Exactly one year (31st October) later on her death anniversary, the plane crashed in Chang Kai Shek International Airport in Taipei. Coincidentally, this was also the day the Eurasian steward was released from prison.

The SQ 006 TPE/LAX sector was scheduled to leave TPE at 10:55pm. As there was an approaching typhoon, the SQ 006 Captain and his crew decided to board the plane and depart 15 minutes early. The Left 1 and
Left 2 doors were not closed until 10:55pm (the original departure time). The reason was that, the number of passengers did not tally with the passenger lists in economy section. One of the junior stewardess counted 5 times and advised her colleague that she could not tally the passengers in the economy section. Both of them then counted the passenger again and confirmed an extra passenger in the cabin. When they recounted the passengers with the chief stewardess again, the number of passengers were correct. The junior stewardess advised her chief stewardess that one of the lady passenger sitting in 40A (front section of the economy class) was not there and they could not locate her in the lavatories either.

The flight received push-back clearance as scheduled. The two junior
stewardesses were among the casualties in SQ 006 where none of the
passengers in the front economy section survived the crash. The chief
stewardess only suffered slight injuries as she was sitting in the business class section.

While preparing the flight for LAX ( Los Angeles ) in the business class
section, one of the male in-flight supervisor who could "see things"
happen, saw a lady flipping through the passenger list which was placed
on one of the first class cabin table. As there were cleaners in the cabin, he did not shout at her but when he walked to the first class section, there were no signs of this lady. The male in-flight supervisor was among the survivors left unscratched in the crash as he was sitting in the back section of the economy class. This story was brought up during an investigative interview with the SQ 006 crew.

There was suspicion that the murder a year ago could have involved more than one person but it was not pursued further. It was believed that the (Eurasian guy, who was also a SIA steward) accomplices could have been in the SQ 006 flight. It was also understood that one of the male in-flight steward who died in this crash was a buddy of the Eurasian guy. The flight number was immediately changed after the interview.

Dumpling festival....

It's the Duan Wu Jie, also known as Dragon Boat Festival....

Seeing all the rice dumplings just freak me out..
especially since so the news has been covering unscrupulous manufacturers in China who are selling dumplings that have expired 2 years ago.. or use high levels of copper sulphate to maintain a bright green on the dumpling leaves.

Anyway... a thought that i was pondering about today was the word dumpling....

since that everything and anything can be classified as a dumpling, example:

wanton - dumpling
gyoza - dumpling
bak chang - dumpling
tang yuan (glutionous rice balls) - dumpling..

the word dumpling is so versatile eh..

My little phoenix

I rescued a little bird today that was trapped in my house.. it could not even fly properly.. it was relatively tame for a wild bird.. since it sat in my hands without fidgeting much.

It was so cute that I couldnt resist to keep it...

and thus, I named it Phoenix. Why Phoenix??

Well its after the legendary bird.. as well as the character in Harry Potter.. The magical bird that never dies.. as well as Phoenyx in X men...

Hope this little Phoenix will do well...

Miracles of rain...

Earlier today, i was lamenting about how rainy and gloomy the weather has been..

However, true to the lyrics of the song..

the rain has taken away my pain, washed away my sorrows.... that is, with the aid of some retail therapy...

Just some pics of what I got today...

not going to describe what they are.. a bit sensitive info.. :P

Rain... feel it on my finger tips

It's been raining the whole day since this morning..
slight drizzle... but still bright and sunny...
cold, yet warm... looking like Mother Nature is going oxymoronic too..

Just to share a song that I have not heard in a long time:

Rain by Maddona

I feel it...
It's coming...

Feel it on my finger tips, hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like
Wash away my sorrow, take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

When your lips are burning mine
And you take the time to tell me how you feel
When you listen to my words
And I know you've heard, I know it's real
Rain is what this thunder brings
For the first time I can hear my heart sing
Call me a fool but I know I'm not
I'm gonna stand out here on the mountain top
Till I feel your

Feel it on my finger tips, hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like
Wash away my sorrow, take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

When you looked into my eyes, and you said goodbye
Could you see my tears
When I turned the other way
Did you hear me say
I'd wait for all the dark clouds bursting in a perfect sky
You promised me when you said goodbye
That you'd return when the storm was done
And now I'll wait for the light, I'll wait for the sun
Till I feel your

Feel it on my finger tips, hear it on my window pane
Your love's coming down like
Wash away my sorrow, take away my pain
Your love's coming down like

Here comes the sun... here comes the sun
And I say... never go away

Waiting is the hardest thing
[ It's strange I feel like I've known you before ]
I tell myself that if I believe in you
[ And I want to understand you ]
In the dream of you
[ More and more ]
With all my heart and all my soul
[ When I'm with you ]
That by sheer force of will
[ I feel like a magical child ]
I will raise you from the ground
[ Everything's strange ]
And without a sound you'll appear
[ Everything's wild ]
And surrender to me
To love

Rain is what the thunder brings
For the first time I can hear my heart sing
Call me a fool but I know I'm not
I'm gonna stand out here on the mountain top
Till I feel your

I feel it...
It's coming...
Your love's coming down like

I'll stand out on the mountain top
Until I hear you call
My name

GSS window shopping!!

Went on a window shopping spree today..

First went to Centre point to check out some stuff.. saw a really nice HOF offered to me.. but sad to say... cant afford it..

Then off to Takashimaya.... saw this really nice pen at Mont Blanc! but also cant afford it...

I think most of the stuff on my wish list seems to be pretty unaffordable!!!

Been pretty busy..

I've been pretty busy recently working these days, especially since its the school holidays...

which is why.. not much updates here in my blog..

Was out to see a client today... but unfortunately.. i couldnt reach an agreement to make a deal... I guess, in this world.. its a big fish eat small fish kinda world.. small fishes gotta grow up fast and strong to avoid being eaten by bigger fishes..

Nothing interesting fancied me.. Thats a good thing too.. cos I've been quite broke after all the GSS sales..

Blue no more...

Blue, blue.. my heart is blue...
blue is my heart....

Suspicious Behaviour

I saw these people behaving suspiciously on a overhead bridge today.. they were taking armed with cameras and video taping the traffic passing...

And the fact that they did not stay near to their equipment added on to the suspicion.. could they be from the Traffic Police???

I am not too sure either. since they were not in any uniform of sorts. If they are from the TP, it would be very unethical for them to do an ambush and not be in the TP uniform too....

See these people not in any uniform of sorts:

The view from below the bridge, the cameras and people are hardly noticeable.. pretty good ambush!

The Living Room

Just finished my live interview session on 93.8fm The Living Room..

went down to Caldecott Hill earlier this morning to the radio studio, its a pretty cosy place.. somehow or rather, going live on air seemed to be rather different from my previous interviews session. I guess the pressure of not being able to do a seond retake during a NG Scene added onto to my tension.

I did have some verbal bloopers during the show.. but thankfully, I managed to complete the whole session pretty smoothly..

Damn funny KFC commercial...

Check this out....
Really hilarious!!!

A Taiwan ad for KFC!!!

A "chinese medium" was doing a ritual to summon a God into his body.
(A Chinese Medium is a spiritualist who can summon a God or Goddess and let his body be used by the God/Goddess.)
Apparently, the "God" summoned by the medium was unhappy with the food offerings offered by his believers. "I have not 'come' for a long time, and how dare you forget what I'd love to eat???" In a fit of anger, he swept away all the offerings on the table.
One of the believers immediately came up with a drum of suspicious-looking fried chicken, "Here it is!"
The medium took a bite and said "This is NOT KFC!"
Angered, he warned the believer, "You have not been watching TV commercials, have you? If I do not have KFC today, I will be very unhappy (and you'll be real sorry)!!"
The next scene saw the figurine of the God shaking in rage. ..

Really cute eh?

Pink Bomb in Bomb!!!

You must be wondering what I mean..

Was at a wedding dinner earlier today.. Yes.. It's another of those neighbours that invite u to their son's wedding.. and you dun even know them well kinda thing...

But this time round, it was held at a posh place.. Orchid Country Club Grand Ball Room... the menu was fantastic.. starters being bird nest soup, lobster salad, sharks fin, roasted pig, scallops with broccoli... etc etc

To cut things short, half way thru the dinner.. I got an SMS, by Shiqing, or rather the already Mrs Soon.. "Hey.. my wedding dinner is on 8th July 2007, can you come?"

wow... pretty high tech these days.. we can go by SMS cinema movie bookings, SMS wedding invitations....

Check before you sign...

Sign your credit card charge slips that is...

Today went to a Japanese restaurant, and when I was going to settle the bill, the cashier keyed in an extra 3 plates of premium sushi that I did not consume.. Upon informing her of the situation, she calmly went through the hand written order slip slowly and said it was correct.

So she charged that amount to the card and printed out a receipt, turned out that there was indeed 3 plates of premium sushi charged. Thankfully I was alert enought.

Which reminds me of an incident that happened at Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie at Paragon something last month after a seminar I attended, I was with my friend there enjoying some cakes and tea. After which, when I settled the bill and stepped out of the shop, I realised that there was indeed extra items that I did not consume charged to me, when I went back to the shop to inform the waitress, she was aware of what we consumed and told the cashier about the overcharged bill. However, the cashier had the aduacity to give me a black face and did not even apologise at all.

To think that such behaviour is practised by people in the Food Service industry... see the void copy of the recipt:
