I feel so free and easy after the papers have ended...

But as usual.. there is also a sense of worry and uneasiness while waiting for the results... but since things have been over.. there isnt much to worry about...

Maybe just enjoy the Lunar New Year, in about 6 days time!

Asian Civilization Musuem

Went to The Asian Civilzation Musuem today which is located at Empress Place.

It's been some time since I been to such places... maybe since Primary school days..

Went there to meet up with someone I know whos working there.. and got a short free tour around the place... went to the Nalanda Trail exhibition there... Very interesting to see all the buddhism relics on display... in fact, I even got to see a real relic of Buddha which was displayed...

A Reason to save lesser?

Got a mailer today from a bank informing me that savings rate with them will be changed with effect from 1st March 2008.

Savings AccountOld RateNew Rate from 1st March 2008

First S$3,000

Next S$47,000

Next S$50,000

Above S$100,000

Looks like they are encouraging people to save lesser with the bank. More then $3000 in your account, and you get lesser interest per annum.... so does that mean they want you to spend all your money?

Bad Bread!

Was at this bakery located at Sembawang MRT station earlier today....

realised that they had very bad attitude... this guy baking the bread... most probably Malaysian, judging from his accent since he was shouting at the top of his voice while making the bread...

And to make things worse, he had more bling on that a Christmas tree.. rings, bracelets and what so ever... how can one wear jewellery when making the bread... no simple sense of HACCP concepts! Really wonder what will happen if the jewellery full into the dough and is kneaded and baked into bread!!! Also, lets not forget the great amount of microbial growth on the surfaces!

Bakeries these days should wake up their ideas... especially after the famous bakery incident in Singapore!

The Long Road Ahead

I just had my first paper today...

Let's just say.. I havent prepared myself at all..

I'm getting very tired of studying and working at the same time....

Studying and working concurrently is tiring enough, to make things worse.. when you'r edoing your own business, there is more committment to add on... One might think that there is more flexibility... but there's always a flip side to the coin...

To end off this day....

A song that best describes it all:

No Doubt - Running

Run, running all the time
Running to the future
With you right by my side

Me, I'm the one you chose
Out of all the people
You wanted me the most

And I'm so sorry that I've fallen
Help me up, let's keep on running
Don't let me fall out of love

Running, running, as fast as we can
Do you think we'll make it?
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get separated

Be, be the one I need
Be the one I trust most
Don't stop inspiring me

Sometimes it's hard to keep on running
We work so much to keep it going
Don't make me want to give up

Running, running as fast as we can
I really hope we make it
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get separated

Running as fast as we can
I really hope we make it
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running as fast as we can
I really hope we make it
We're running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get seperated

The future...

Running, running, as fast as we can
Do you think we'll make it?
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get seperated

Running as fast as we can
I really hope we make it
(Do you think we'll make it?)
We're running, running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get seperated

Rush rush and rush

I'm getting kinda sick of the advanced diploma...

It's kinda hectic having to juggle studies with work, especially so its the peak time now during the Lunar New Year.

And to top it off, its the exams periods too... so here I am trying to rush all my assignments and homework....

I really feel so tempted to quit the advance diploma.....

Things people do on MRT

Been taking the MRT very frequently recently.... and I have personally encountered this one very irritating habbit:

Talking on their handphones at the top of their voices like to tell people about their personal lives

Hello, every single detail on how good your exam marks, how good your project work is... how intelligent you are... is all known....

Chocolate Mochi

Damon, who just got back from Japan, gave me these rare chocolate mochi.....

Apparently, its rare, cos they seldom make mochi with chocolate flavour.
Tastes pretty interesting too.. unlike the kinds of mochi that we can get in Singapore.

A photo I took today while I was out:

Of Tangerines And Murano

The Lunar New Year is just some 3 weeks away... and its a chinese custom to have tangerines during the festive season as they sound like gold in Cantonese... Saw this beautiful tangerine quartz today which got its unique orange-yellow colouration from iron present in it matrix. A rather unique and interesting colour... another amazing piece of artwork from mother Nature herself.

Got from JAM creation a murano gold glass bead.. which makes quite an interesting choker piece too:

Wire faeries

No.... there's nothing wrong with the spelling of my title today... I did not forget to press F7 to use the spell check function...

rather 'faeries', is one of the original spelling of fairy...

This handmade wizard faerie is rather interesting...
It's supposed to come with this little poem:

"With sceptre and cape and grey long hair
He seems quite a sight so beware
The teeth he collects he boils and bubbles
Creating a potion to cure faeries troubles"

Wonder if he can cure my troubles too..

Sunday Bloom

Being so busy recently, I have been neglecting my collection of tillandsias for almost a week...

imagine my surprise this morning when I saw that many of them were blooming.. some others were in bud formation stages....

Come to think about it... its kinda reminds me of us humans, many a time, we shower a lot of attention to ensure that the outcome of events meets our expectations... but more often that not, things seem better when they are best left alone... Moral of the story.. dont worry for tommorrow, for tommorrow will worry for itself!

What a suay day....

Today.. went to Singapore Polytechnic to attend the official opening of Spinnovex 2008...

how time flies... I still remember myself being a student at the event just a year ago...

Popped by JAM's creations for their official grand opening too... loads of congratulatory flowers and people there too!

Anyway.. was in town with my cousin, Clarence... somewhere along Middle Road on the way back to Victoria Street Wholesale Centre, this mad women pointed to us and cursed us saying that she knows black magic and we will die in three days... wah... so damn suay!!!!!!

Better to be safe and to be sorry, we hurriedly went to the Waterloo Street Kwam Im temple to pray for safety... haha.. its in times of this that one tends to become superstitious... but I still wanna live!

Food Poisoning in CAMP?

Soldiers down with upset stomachs

January 5, 2008

By Leong Wee Keat

AT LEAST 118 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) servicemen at Pasir Laba Camp came down with gastrointestinal disease on Thursday. Symptoms included diarrhoea and in some severe cases, vomiting.

Today understands that they were struck down with the illness after they had apparently consumed meals on Wednesday at the camp's cookhouses. None of the camp's cookhouses have been closed while investigations are ongoing.

As a standard practice, food samples are taken from meals consumed by servicemen and kept for three days before they are disposed of. Samples from Wednesday's meals are now being tested and the results will be known on Sunday.

Mindef spokesperson Colonel Darius Lim said the 118 SAF servicemen suffered mild symptoms of gastrointestinal disease. Appropriate medical treatment and rest in camp were accorded to the affected servicemen, he added.

Pasir Laba Camp at Jurong is considered the home of SAF Warrant Officers and Specialists, housing the School of Infantry Specialists (Sispec) among other units.

At least 20 servicemen from a Sispec company of 100 trainees had reported sick from food poisoning on Thursday, said one soldier.

Really wonder what's going on these days...

looking back at my army days... I can still recall the number of unpleasant incidents I had in the SAFTI cookhouses!!!!
