Night Shot of Marina Bay Sands

Took this photo of Marina Bay Sands while walking to Lau Pa Sat to enjoy satay!
What do you think of the grandeur of the building contrasting with the quite serene settings?

Time for a break after work..

I guess... I will just let the pictures do the talking!!

Chase the blues away...

Nothing better to chase the blues away....
Other then Famous Amos cookies...

Only you can set me free...

Heard this song on the radio on the way to work on a rainy Monday morning..

How retro!

The cause of the floods?

Recently Singapore has been plagued by wet weather.. and even disastrous floods in many areas across Singapore!

So is this the case of bad Feng Shui of a newly open
ed tourist attraction? I came across this article here:

If you take alook at the top of the building, indeed looks like a ship hanging in the sky. With the 3 solid buildings supporting the “ship” and lifted it up the sky, there is no way anyone can alight from the ship other than to jump down. That’s really bad sign according to chinese belief (almost everything about death is bad anyway)
Well, according to this blog:

I heard somewhere a fengshui master mentioned because this gigantic roof top looks like a ship so high, it would make the rest of Singapore land appear to be below sea level, and hence, that is why we are getting floods, which is something that rarely happens! Morever, usually in the middle of the year, Singapore should be the hottest during the May - July period. Instead it has been raining cats and dogs, with floods!

I wonder who did the fengshui for the Marina Bay Sands? From the fengshui angle, if the cause of the floods is indeed due to the 'ship', are we going to be "drowned" soon? Hope the people at the higher level do something to avert this or have a fengshui cure in place soon.

Please have the courtesy to close the doors...

... when you get off from my car...

This was what happened this morning.. after breakfast to be exact.

Was walking back to the car when I realised that one of the door was not even closed at all... yes.. not even closed throughout the entire breakfast we had... To think that my lap top, etc were all inside the car!

Thank you so much, Mr Washing Powder!

Came across this sign while queuing for seats at Manhattan Fish Market (Bishan Junction 8)
I must say that after dining at their outlets.... the food is pretty ok... but the service standard is BAD!

They should work harder at promoting a better work culture like their competitors, Fish & Co.

Be careful when you next take photos

Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao reports that one of its photographers was arrested and detained by police for one hour for taking photos of Saturday morning’s flood.

In its Saturday evening edition, the local newspaper put a photo of its photographer, with visible handcuff marks still on his wrist, and that of a policeman side by side on its front page, under a headline that said, “Photographer arrested because of taking photos”.

This is extremely shocking... be very careful when you next take your pictures... you never know when you can end up in the same predicament!

So much for STOMP's citizen journalism practice!

The uncertainness of life

Today, was at this regular joint that I always go for cakes and drinks to unwind.

Halfway thru my sundae, the lady boss told me that she would be giving up her business at the end of the month.. due to her family reasons (husband getting overseas posting and her sick son). Really empathize with her.

The F&B industry is really a tough line despite what most people tend to see it as a high profit-margin sector.

I guess I will have until end July to enjoy my fave hang out!

Ampang Yong Tau Fu

Happened to pass by Upper Thomson Road after a meeting and decided to try my luck....

The area is notorious, or rather infamous for the lack of parking space...

Thank god there were some lots... and had the chance to savour the famous Ampang Yong Tau Fu there!

Note: there are two stores there, not too sure which is the original store that was there earlier. But it seems that more people were eating at the corner store..

So having the Singaporean mentality of going with the flow, the corner store seemed to be the correct choice!
Anyone reading my blog can share more about their experiences this outlet?

Oh Harry's!

Here I am sitted at Harry's playing Aunt Agony for a broken heart....

As what the old adage goes "Love hurts", nothing beats drowning one's sorrows... not when my vodka lime gets mistaken for soft drinks!

Black Sunday

The worst thing that can even happen on Sunday when I am on duty: a burst fire sprinkler right smack in the freezer!!!

Anyway, after clearing up the whole mess.. headed to Buttercake n Cream for some rib eye steak...
Had dessert, as usual!!!

Really impressed by their oreo cheesecake with rum and raisin ice cream!
Nice enough to perk me up...

Parking Woes...

I cant believe...

The flatted factory, that my work place is in, has started this compulsory season parking purchase scheme. This means that we are no longer allowed to park outside the area without paying for a season parking fee...

I do not oppose paying for the season parking, however, the sad truth is that for each unit in the block, they are only entitled to purchase one lot for a private car and one lot for a lorry.

The private cars have to be parked in the sun at the ground floor, whereas the lorries have to be parked right at the top rooftop level where there is no lift access except for the long flight of stairs...

Wonder what kinda policy it is and how long it will last!

HD webcam

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of faceVsion Technology USA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you ever experience poor video quality when you are video conferencing with someone else on Skype? Tried switching on more lights? Close more applications running on your desktop? But all that does not solve the problem?

What could be worse when such things happen when you are making a presentation in front of important clients? An utter embarrassment! I was in such an encounter recently, and all I just wanted to do was to be an ostrich: find a hole somewhere in the ground and stick my head in it!

Well, there is a solution now for you and me! Introducing FV touchcam N1, it is the first Internet streaming true HD webcam for Skype video calls. Yes, it is HD, otherwise known as High Definition!
The camera is extremely easy to use. All you need to do is to mount N1 camera to your laptop’s lid or flat screen PC display, plug the USB cable to an available Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection, and launch Skype 4.2 for Windows or higher. It’s easier than ABC!

What’s even more amazing is that the high quality hardware encoding of the H.264 video stream delivers exceptional video quality without taxing the PC’s CPU, which means you can run other applications in the background while video conferencing!

Yearning to get it now? faceVsion touchcam is available through faceVision on line store and other value added partners!

Check out their FV ExpressCombo when you are there!
