Problem with Maybank Banking Token

Had not accessed my Maybank Internet banking account for some time and was pretty surprised that I could not gain access to it even after I had keyed in the password from my security token.

It did not help that the security token was locked after I keyed in the password from the security token wrongly after 3 trials.

Called up Maybank and they told me that due to inactivity of account, the security token might lose its synchronization with the bank's system resulting in wrong password being displayed....

So does it make better sense to opt for SMS-based security password instead of the security token?
